Wes arrived into the world on September 4th, over 5 weeks early. So much has changed in that time. Most importantly, Wes has physically developed from a tiny preemie into a thriving baby. Below are two videos. The first was taken during Wes' third day in the hospital when he was being treated for Jaundice. The other video was taken on Wes's due date; it was the first day we saw a little smile in response to something we were doing (look carefully...he sneaks it in at the end)! Together, the videos show how far Wes has come. We can't even imagine how it will feel to watch the videos a year from now. Geez, they grow up so fast :)

Due Date
October 11th marked Wes' official due date; we were told this date way back in January when we had our first ultrasound. It is a significant date because it was the birthday of Kristy's grandfather, Cornell James Mickley. Wes' middle name is in honor of him. Kristy and her grandfather were very close; he took her to and from school every day, they often went to the library together, and he always made sure there was an ice cream treat ready for her in the summer. It woud have been neat for Wes to be born on October 11th, but obviously Wes had other plans!
