Baptism and Bjorn

Wesley was welcomed into the Church on November 12th!  Close friends and family came to celebrate Wes' first sacrament.  Wes also went to Mass for the first time that day.  We learned that he thinks the best seat in the house is not actually a seat, but bouncing up and down in the Moby Wrap in the back of church.  Sorry Jesus, but we'll work on the kneeling soon!

Deacon Bob, a very influential person in our lives, performed the sacrament, and Lauren and Drake Steed are serving as Wes' godparents.  Lauren and Kristy have been friends their entire lives, and there is no one who can model Catholic stewardship better than Lauren and her family.  Wes is a lucky guy to have such outstanding people in his life.

Wes was a rockstar (as always) when it came to the pouring of the water.  We have clearly conditioned him through our nightly bathtime fun because he didn't cry at all when the not-so-warm water was poured over his head!

Wes is also now big enough to use the Baby Bjorn.  This carrier (which makes us feel like bona fide yuppies) allows Wes to face forward and see the world...and boy is he happy to do so!  He spent the afternoon looking out windows, around the kitchen, quilting with Kristy, and playing a computer game with Sean.  It is his new passport to the world (well, at least his little part of the world)!
