Jumpin' James and Getting Ready for Christmas

Wes has had enough of being cradled and sitting on our lap; he's ready to stand and jump!  After exhausting our arms by helping him "jump" from a standing position on the floor, we delved into the pile of summer garage sale finds in our basement and found the Exersaucer (really, who is paid to come up with these names?!).  Wes is still pretty small for it, but with the help of a few quilts we can wedge him safely inside and he can exersaucer himself silly.

The last week has brought about some substantial developmental changes in our opinion.  It seems like he is on the verge of really becoming a little man with a personality!  He has become quite intent on looking at whomever is in the room (even making eye contact!) and he is able to follow us with his eyes as we move around.  He is even starting to become less stingy with his smiles (making our relationship feel less like that of Lois and Stewey from Family Guy)!

One of Wes' favorite things to do is stare at lights...usually of very intense wattage!  In fact, Sean is starting to speculate that Wes doesn't so much love the ceiling fan as he does the anticipation of lights underneath the fan turning on.  With that said, Christmas decorations have become quite intriguing!  We are slowly putting up the decorations around our house, and the tree made its appearance this weekend.  Wes is helping to decorate, although he seems to be less picky about the placement of the ornaments than his mom...he's just fascinated by the lights!
