This past week marked Spring Break for school districts around here, which meant that Sean was home for a whole week. We started the week with the biggest snow storm we've had so far this season. 10.5" of snow later, we were ready to get outside!
We decided that the best way to prevent Wes from eating all of our mulch in the backyard was to distract him with a toy. We found a pretty good deal on a toddler slide, and Wes and Grandpa Miller immediately got to work assembling the fun.
We can't say Wes uses it according to the manufacturer's guidelines, but it he does have loads of fun with it.
Since Wes seems to be observant of critters outside of our windows, we figured he was old enough to go to the local zoo. He spotted a few of the animals right away and seemed fairly amused until we entered the monkey house. I never would have guessed a kid who can stand with his face in the Diaper Genie would be so traumatized by the smell of a little primate feces. Regardless, we quickly moved on and stuck to outdoor, less-odorous exhibits. All in all, we had fun (even though we probably could have saved our $11.50, considering the squirrels and geese seemed to be Wes' favorite animals anyway).
During the week, we also welcomed the newest little member to our family. Fondly known as Professor Plum, our new electric iMiev replaced Sean's old car.
I have been pretty busy with quilting the last few weeks, and oftentimes Wes joins me in the basement while I attempt to get some work done. He likes to explore the junk in our basement and tends to get into all sorts of mischief.
Finally, we ended the week by celebrating Easter. Wes seemed to enjoy everything in his basket except the Peeps!
