Hello Autumn!

If there is anything I have learned from Wes, it is to play hard.  He is determined pack as much fun into each day as he can and, unlike myself, rarely gets deterred by details like rain, cool temperatures, or nap time.

Even though school is back in session and there isn't much light by which to play after dinner, we still make sure to hang out with our friends as much as possible.  Every morning when I go into Wes' room, I ask him what he wants to do that day.  His response is always the same: Nono (Noah), Bes (Ben), and Roaren (Lauyrn).

We manage to make our own fun when our friends are away.  Topping Wes' bff list are Bear and Sam...poor, poor Sam.

Another favorite way to pass time is chalk.  While Wes rarely tries to eat the chalk anymore, he does like to lay in it and occasionally kiss (lick?) his drawings.

When you play hard you often crash hard.  See Grandma's plaster for details.

One of Wes' new favorite things to do is sit like a big guy when we go out for yummies.  He appreciates his own chair and a non-sippy cup.  He also seems quite fond of college girls and likes to greet them with a charming "hiiii" as they pass by.

One of the best weekends of Wes' entire 2 years was when his aunts and uncles came to celebrate family birthdays in September.  He was eager to engage everyone in bubble blowing, car racing, and tours of the neighborhood "ahhs" (known to the common folk as sewer grates).  One big event of the weekend was a trip to the local pumpkin patch.

The thing I love most about Wes at this age is that he unintentionally but constantly reminds me of what is most important: family, friends, and snacks.
