Wes celebrated his 3rd birthday by doing all of his favorite things: touring the local water towers, sharing a backyard party with his birthday buddy Ben, and of course, eating cupcakes (purple ones, per his request).
Wes often asks for his picture to be taken in front of his favorite water towers (which is all of them). |
Aaaand he likes to take my picture too (and is surprisingly adept at using the iPhone camera). |
We attempted to make water tower decorations for Wes' cupcakes, but it turned out to be more of a snack instead.
On the evening of Wes' birthday, his best friends came over to help celebrate his and Benny's birthdays. These kids are my favorite.

Those dimples!! |
A few days later, Grandma and Grandpa Mullins came to celebrate. They brought along some gifts from their recent trip to Alaska (including a duck whistle that seems to be "lost" for the moment!).
Grandpa Miller's birthday falls in the middle of the month. Wes insisted he needed a cake...we agreed!
Uncle Brian and Aunt Jodi came to celebrate all of the September birthdays (Wes, Grandpa Miller, Jodi, and myself). It had been a long time since we were all together, but it didn't take Wes long to remember how much fun his aunt and uncle are.
We took them to one of Wes' favorite hangouts in town: the Discovery Museum. I'm not sure if Wes or Brian was more tired by the end of the morning.
After everyone took a good nap, Brian and Jodi brought over a biiiiig present.

But it's awesome. Really really awesome. Thanks Uncle Brian! |
We are so crazy lucky to have a whole bunch of people that help make ordinary days as well as special events so wonderful. Life is good!
