Springtime Energy

I love this time of year because everything seems to be teeming with energy.  Leaves have burst into life on all of the trees in the neighborhood, birds are chattering away when I let Bear out in the morning (...and also at 4:45 in the morning when the sun begins to rise, but I'll keep this post positive, folks), and Wes wakes up each morning anticipating the fun opportunities that warm days bring.  We are exhausted by naptime and again by bedtime, but we sure do pack a lot of fun in between.

We made a trip to Springfield to visit Grandma Mullins for Mother's Day.  Wes loved exploring the flowers, trees, and bugs, but the most fun was definitely had on the hammock with Dad.

The kiddo loves bugs.
Grandma Mullins found a worm.
Playing fort.

Our good friend Brandy recently came to visit with her daughter Jaclyn and new baby Lauren.  Wes was pretty curious about the new tiny human that came to play, so he made sure to sniff her out and count her toes.

Wes continues to enjoy helping with projects, and consequently has increased his arsenal of tools.  Perhaps one day he will be the spokesman (kid?) for Menards.

He has yet to tire of his battery-operated truck and makes sure to take good care of all of his vehicles.

Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house has become a popular hangout for many of the kids in the neighborhood.  Some nights they have 6 or more "grandkids" playing in their yard!

We had a week of rainy days in the middle of the month, but that didn't deter us from playing outside anyway.

Parks are a favorite destination, and the best ones are definitely the ones with water.

We filled our small pool for the first time this season, and it was pure excitement for both young and old alike :)
