Golden Birthday

Wes turned 4 on September 4th, and to him (and admittedly us), it was the most anticipated event of the year.  Described as a "numbers guy" by my brother, it was no surprise that Wes started a countdown about 25 days before his birthday. It was a great day, filled with lots of smiles, surprises, and of course, cake.

And the favorite gift was...a real, working vacuum.
Win for Mom!

One of the best things about Wes' early September birthday is that it has always been warm enough to fill up his pool and splash around on his special day.

If I know anything about my son, it's that he likes baseball, frosting, and ice cream.  Thanks to HyVee, we had one awesome ice-cream cake to celebrate this guy.

A few days later, we celebrated both Wes' birthday and neighbor Ben's 4th birthday with our annual backyard cupcake party.

Shortly after Wes' big day, we took a trip to the doctor for his 4-year-old well check.  This Baseball Guy was as brave as he has ever been and powered his way through two shots in order to get to his sugar coated, doctor-unapproved prize.

The last 4 years of our lives have certainly been life-changing, and we are looking forward to whatever the next year of this crazy adventure brings.
