A Happy Halloween

One of my favorite things about Wes' age is that he gets so excited for holidays.  We start countdowns weeks in advance, and he insists that we need to decorate the house for every holiday; the kid would buy the entire seasonal knick-knack aisle at the store if he could.  So it was no surprise that Halloween was much anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed by young and old alike.

The night before Halloween, Wes and his buddies hauled their pumpkins down the street to Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house.  Grandpa graciously helped with the (utterly disgusting) task of cleaning out the pumpkins.

My thoughts exactly, Wes

Cardinals on one side...

Cubs on the other!

The next night we had the whole gang over for dinner.  The rain (which came down heavily and steadily all day) stopped just in time for the kiddos to make it around the block.

We returned home with tired legs, heavy bags, and happy hearts.
