I'm One!

Wes did it!  We did it!  Everyone appears to have survived Wes' first year!  Wes started celebrating his birthday over Labor Day weekend, and he made sure to pack each day with tons of fun.

Wes took advantage of the warm weekend by taking a dip in the pool.  We had to upgrade to our neighbor's pool with taller sides because someone likes to crawl out of the pool lately...

We also made sure to hang out next door with Wes' birthday buddy Ben.  These two are bound to have a lot of fun together!

Mom and Dad gave Wes his first birthday present (a Curious George bath book).  It took a while for Wes to figure out what the wrapping paper was all about.

Of course Mom got overly sentimental about her little peanut becoming such a big guy.  After digging out a preemie outfit that Wes got from the hospital gift shop, we took a photo for size comparison.

And finally, no birthday celebration is legit until there is cake.  Lots of cake.  Everywhere but Wes' mouth.
